Real-life Bluey tourist attraction coming to Brisbane in 2024

Real-life Bluey tourist attraction coming to Brisbane in 2024

The show that’s constantly blaring in the background of your living room will soon be your reality because a real-life recreation of Aussie favourite cartoon Bluey is coming to life.

‘Bluey’s World’, the life-sized immersion into the world of Australia’s favourite Blue Heeler, is set to come to Brisbane in 2024 via BBC studios.

The “one-of-a-kind immersive experience” – as it’s described on the Bluey’s World website – will offer travellers the chance to “embark on a special journey with Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli.” Visitors can venture through life-size versions of Bluey’s bedroom, kitchen, and backyard, while interactive play and soundscapes inspired by the cartoon will bring travellers into the TV show.

The immersion will be available for birthday parties and alongside the iconic sets from the show, travellers can visit a gift shop, café and a playground that will all be housed in the purpose-built site Northshore Pavillion.

Queensland’s tourism minister, Stirling Hinchcliffe, praised Bluey as a Queensland icon.

“Brisbane and our great Queensland lifestyle are the obvious choice for the world debut of Bluey’s World. The world-famous Brisbane-based Heeler family has taken global TV and streaming by storm with many embedded animated references in the show to the Queensland capital’s landmarks and lifestyles,” Hinchcliffe said.

“Bluey’s World is where Australian and overseas families can connect with their favourite Heeler household and explore Queensland’s world-class visitor experiences.

“This is a huge win for fans and tipped to be a huge success for Queensland tourism operators too with Tourism and Events Queensland predicting Bluey’s World will generate up to $18 million in visitor spending.”

Adding to Hinchcliffe’s sentiment was the BBC Studios general manager Fiona Lang, who said she and her team were thrilled about the launch of Bluey’s World.

“Bluey’s World is not just an experience; it’s a celebration of the heart-warming moments that make Bluey so authentically Australian and that bring to life the joyful simplicity that can be found in families around the world,” Lang said, adding that it would be a “one-of-a-kind adventure, where the world of Bluey comes to life in real life”.

Bluey die-hards can sign up for pre-sale now at the Bluey website.

‘Bluey’s World’ isn’t the only chance to immerse oneself into the life of this iconic animated puppy. Last year, the iconic Heeler family was listed on Airbnb in Brisbane.

Airbnb partnered with BBC Studios on this experience to create a house nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street in Brisbane.
