An incredible landscape series, with images taken from a Cessna 182 called ‘Valerie’ that traversed thousands of kilometres from Melbourne to Darwin and beyond, is on exhibition in Sydney for the first time.

Photographer Andrew Vukosav’s Longitude Latitude Solitude was shot from 350 hours and more than 85,000km of flying (twice around the globe) all from a Phase One 150mp XF Camera mounted in the underbelly of the fuselage of his Cessna 182 plane.

    Andrew Vukosav.

Longitude Latitude Solitude has already been seen in Paris, Melbourne, Berlin and Madrid but this will be Vukosav’s Sydney debut.

“I do this for many reasons: Love, passion, adventure, freedom… But when I really think about it, the main reason for this project is to raise awareness about the fragility of our beautiful country and the importance of sustainability so that the treasure we have can endure for future generations,” Vukosav says.

With a long history as a top fashion/arts photographer working with talent, projects and with brands all over the world for several decades including for Vogue, Christian Dior, Rolling Stone, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Architecture AU and celebrity profiles for Brian Brown, Barry Humphreys, Sophia Vergara, Amber Valletta, Hannah Gadsby, Abby-Lee Kershaw and Samantha Harris to name a few – Longitude Latitude Solitude is an exploration of Vukosav’s passion for flight, photography and love our Australian landscape.

From Thursday 27th June, M2 Gallery, Shop 4/450 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills.

Feature image: The Dragon, 2018. All images Andrew Vukosav.
