Despite all the uncertainty plaguing the travel industry at the moment, there are still some positive signs for agents, if this new research is anything to go by.

A recent survey of Australian and New Zealand travel agents by Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority and marketing agency Example found that 80 per cent of travel have kept operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, 64 per cent of agents surveyed took new bookings in June this year, while more than half expect bookings to return to pre-COVID levels by June 2021.

The survey also uncovered a number of other interesting findings, including the most-valued tools by agents; and where destinations, hotels and airlines are falling short.
