Sun Princess: High-end dining and world class entertainment awaits

In case you weren’t already aware, Princess Cruises most extravagant ship yet, the Sun Princess is currently sailing her maiden season through the Mediterranean, and this week, we’re onboard to experience all she has to offer!

The Sun Princess is the first Princess Cruise ship in the new ‘Sphere Class’ and the first in the fleet to be powered by liquified natural gas (LNG).

Home to 1,500 balcony stateroom and ready to offer the experience of a lifetime to some 4,300 cruisers, the Sun Princess ushers in a new era for Princess Cruises which will celebrate 60 years in 2025.

“She’s different to any other Princess ship,” senior VP communications, Princess Cruises, Vicki Johnson, told media onboard today.

“What we’ve done on this ship is we’ve really focused on bringing the outside in.

“Too often on cruise ships we take our guests to these incredible places and everyone’s always facing inwards.

“Here we make it a priority to give our guests the most impressive views anywhere.

“While she is very different than any of our royal class ships, you’ll see elements of the Princess experience throughout. So shall we say she’s an evolution, not a revolution.

Industry leading food collaborations

With over 30 inviting dining and bar options to choose from, the Sun Princess offers a top of the line culinary experience waiting for your clients to devour!

“I really believe that she’s the greatest foodie destination at sea,” Johnson continued

“What really differentiates us from not only our other ships but I think within the entire cruise industry is that we have collaborated with an impressive group of celebrity and celebrated chefs.

“We’ve got Rob Floyd who’s always been an important person for Good Spirits.

“We’ve also brought on Dario Cecchini who is the known as the world’s most famous butcher if you’ve ever seen Chef’s Table.

“One of the other new developments, the new eatery and bar in one is O’Malleys, such a huge hit, our own take on Irish pub, a great gathering point and great entertainment.”

The new extraordinary experience straight from Hollywood

Following the successful debut of the first extraordinary experience with 360 onboard Discovery Princess and Enchanted Princess, the newest development is Spellbound by Magic Castle, in partnership with the famed Hollywood icon.

Spellbound blends the captivating world of magic with the art of mixology, highlighting the incredible feats of talented magicians in themed rooms paired with theatrical cocktails!

We’re spending the next six nights onboard this incredible ship, so keep posted to Travel Weekly to learn all about her in real time with us!
