Japan National Tourism Organization Agent Roadshow returns
The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) has just wrapped up three very colourful agent educational and networking events in Sydney at the Hilton, W Brisbane and the JW Marriott in Auckland, with 346 travel agents in attendance.

JNTO showcased almost 30 top suppliers from across Japan who networked with agents over Japanese cuisine and entertainment before formal appointments commenced for agents to receive in depth information.
At both Australian events agents heard from guest speaker, Carolyn Childs, CEO of MyTravelResearch.com, who shared consumer insight and travel trends, and enjoyed traditional entertainment with a shamisen performance from Noriko Tadano, while dining on Japanese inspired cuisine and discovering more about the land of unlimited experiences and sensations.
Throughout the evening, agents had ten scheduled appointments lasting five minutes each, which were pre-assigned based on their registered interests, allowing them to learn and discuss directly with suppliers and destinations. Networking opportunities throughout ensured that agents had the ability to connect with all attending suppliers. The events were managed by local travel marketing agency, Linkd Tourism.
All agents were invited to enter a competition as a thank you for their attendance, with two winners from each city receiving a Japanese cooking class for two. Winners include:
- Sydney: Luke Watts – TravelManagers and Thao Lai – Departures
- Brisbane: Lea Tuifua – Flight Centre and Kristina de Nicolai – Pulse Travel
- Auckland: Natalia Skachkova – Manase Travel Studio and Kamani Pillay – Flight Centre
JNTO will be running two more Australian roadshows for those who missed out on these popular events this time. The next events will be held in Sydney on 5th February and in Perth on 7th February 2024. To register interest, agents can enter their details on the below links:
