Journey Beyond unveils new Broome experience
Edited by Travel Weekly

Australia’s leading experiential tourism provider, Journey Beyond, has launched a new touring experience in partnership with Paspaley, Australia’s oldest pearling company.

In celebration of this launch, Journey Beyond provides an introduction offer of 25 per cent off for bookings made now and up until 31 July 2024.

Executive General Manager Sales & Partnerships for Journey Beyond, Alicia Triggs, says the intimate small group tour is an immersive experience designed to give guests an understanding of Broome’s rich Australian Pearling history.

“Our newest Journey Beyond experience with Paspaley will highlight the deep connection between beautiful pearls and this breathtaking part of the world,” she said.

There will be two Pearl Farm Tour departures departing daily, in the morning and afternoon, operating from 1 July through October 2024.

Guests will visit one of Paspaley’s open sea pearl farms and discover the journey of pearl creation and immerse themselves in the region’s history. They will be collected from Broome and transported to Gantheaume Point Beach, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Guests are then transported by tender to a custom-designed seagoing vessel to cruise into Roebuck Bay, a designated Ramsar Nature Reserve wetland site.

At Roebuck Bay, guests are introduced to the Paspaley Pearl Farm and the five stages of pearl cultivation. Paspaley works hand-in-glove with nature, using a combination of science and careful marine stewardship to produce beautiful pearls.

On return to Gantheaume Point, guests will be transferred to the Paspaley Boutique to admire Paspaley’s exquisite collections, and there will be the opportunity to sample pearl meat. Afterwards, they are returned to their hotel, or have the option to continue exploring downtown Broome.
