Hosted by TV personality, Faustina ‘Fuzzy’ Agolley, the inaugural Klook Travel Fest took place on Saturday, November 30, at Carriageworks where more than 10,000 people joined to snap up travel discounts, prizes, and hear expert tips from industry insiders and social media content makers Kat and Deja Clark, and Sofia Ligeros.

The event was the first offline consumer-focused event in Klook’s history in Australia offering travellers the chance to experience a fresh take on the traditional ‘travel expo’. Themed around 90s console games, guests enjoyed a huge selection of virtual destination and experience-themed games and challenges across several ‘worlds’. Bringing the concept of gamification into the expo world, hundreds of prizes were given out throughout the day for taking part in the challenges including trips to Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Klook’s director of oceania marketing, Diana Vidovic, said: “After months of planning and working with our destination partners to deliver an exciting day for our biggest Klook fans, we were thrilled to see so many people flocking to each ‘world’ to enjoy the fun and games. It was amazing to see both adults and children getting involved with everything from Hong Kong’s dumpling toss to eliminating aliens in the Nevada desert while taking home some top prizes.

“With over 8,300 travel offers redeemed in the Klook app and over 1,300 travel prizes collected on the day itself, the event was a huge success. We are already geared up and looking forward to bringing an even bigger and better Klook Travel Fest next year.”

After a day of fun and giveaways, the event on Saturday wrapped up with an ‘after-dark’ adults-only event session featuring nostalgic DJ tunes from the 90s, cocktails, and food from Cultured Crust and Satay Brothers.

Headline event partners included Disneyland California Resort and Walt Disney World. The event is in partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Korea Tourism Organization, Los Angeles Tourism, Travel Nevada, Mandai, Rail Europe and the Philippine Department of Tourism, and is supported by Air Asia, Jetstar, VietJet, American Tourister, and Bali Buddies.
