Kris Abbey’s wellness summit returns to Byron Bay for second year
Edited by Travel Weekly

On 20- 21 October, spa and wellness industry leader, Kris Abbey will bring Australia’s second longevity and wellness summit to Byron Bay.

The immersive in-person summit will be held at the award-winning Crystalbrook Byron, bringing together an exceptional line-up of wellness leaders, experiences, and business ideas for anyone in the expanding spa and wellness space.

The Global Wellness Institute forecasts the wellness market will continue to expand its share of consumer spending over the next five years, growing to US$8.5 trillion in 2027 – nearly double the size it was in 2020.

With over three decades of experience in the industry, Abbey is ideally positioned to curate this special two-day event. “I am thrilled to bring the Summit to Australasian wellness operators. It will delve into the emerging area of longevity, shed new light on wellness trends, stimulate growth, arm delegates with ideas and deliver a valuable and totally uplifting event”, said Abbey.

“Byron Bay is thrilled to welcome this event, offering a unique platform for collective inspiration and learning. It’s a privilege to showcase the region’s array of wellness activities, inviting attendees to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of experiences we offer,” expressed Heath Batterham of Destination North Coast.

The Summit features sessions with wellness industry leaders including Gold Medal Olympian Lauren Burns, Aro Ha Wellness Retreat’s co-founder Damian Chaparro, Australia’s leading Wellness Professor, Dr Marc Cohen and many local experts. Plus, all those attending the Summit will experience over a dozen immersive wellness experiences including contrast therapy, bee beds, guided meditations, red light therapy, and a cutting-edge Wellness Check to determine both biological and cognitive age.

There are also mindful activations, and pre and post-summit tours, including the newly opened integrative wellness centre, The Health Lodge.

The third annual Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Awards to be held on 21 October at the Crystalbrook Byron. The prestigious awards will again recognise the very best in spa and wellness across the region.
