LA Tourism teams up with Travel Junction and American Airlines to showcase ‘LA 2.0’ with ultimate trip

Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, together with The Travel Junction and American Airlines, hosted the lucky winners of the cooperative agent incentive ‘Ultimate LA 2.0 fam trip’ on a food and thrill-packed trip to Los Angeles last month.

Over five days the attendees experienced the magic and excitement of Los Angeles, with a focus on the latest and greatest attractions to have opened in the last few years.

With new updates across every single category, ‘LA 2.0’ is buzzing with energy, making now the perfect time to visit the City of Angels.

The group flew direct to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in the comfort of American Airlines Premium Economy class, before checking into Los Angeles’ luxury landmark, the Fairmont Century Plaza, enjoying the property’s extensive US$2.5b renovation.

The group ended their first day with a visit to Grand Central Market – with over 140 nationalities calling LA home, you can find almost any cuisine at this iconic marketplace, from diverse fusion-fare to comfort food favourites – before heading to Crypto.com Arena in Downtown LA to watch the LA Clippers take on the Chicago Bulls.

Second day highlights included an express Hollywood Sign Hike with Bikes and Hikes LA, offering 360 views of the Hollywood Hills, and, of course, world-class views of the Hollywood Sign, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023.

From there it was time to depart for Universal Studios Hollywood, with highlights including the all-new Super Nintendo World, alongside favourites like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the world-famous Studio Tour. The group then checked into their second accommodation, The Garland Hotel in North Hollywood. A retro urban oasis, the Garland Hotel is a family favourite – minutes from the excitement and thrills of LA.

Marnie Lowe, Kathleen Brown, Maddison Petersen, Renee Markwick, Chantelle Emert – are SO in Los Angeles right now…

No visit to LA is complete without experiencing the city’s movie magic first hand. The group was able to visit a number of the city’s best attractions, including a guided tour of filming locations in the San Fernando Valley with My Valley Pass, the Warner Bros. Studio Plus Tour, and a visit to the all-new Academy Museum of Motion pictures which opened in 2021.

The Academy Museum is the largest museum in the US dedicated to the art of filmmaking, with thousands of unique film props, costumes, and Academy Awards memorabilia.

Rounding out their stay with a visit to one of the city’s most iconic neighbourhoods – Venice Beach, the winners toasted their stay on the last night of the trip at High Rooftop Lounge at Hotel Erwin.

With panoramic views of the Los Angeles coastline, sundowner cocktails were the perfect way to end five days in the City of Angels, before transferring to LAX for a return flight to Sydney with American Airlines.
