LATAM Airlines has announced an additional direct flight from Melbourne to Santiago, Chile that will run from today, through until April 2025.

The airline will now operate four weekly flights, up from the previous three.

This expansion comes hot on the heels of the successful return of LATAM’s direct Sydney-Santiago route in late October.

LATAM Airlines celebrates relaunch of Sydney to Santiago route

The move is designed to capitalise on the growing popularity of South America as a tourist destination. With diverse cultures, stunning landscapes, and rich history, the continent is attracting more and more travellers from around the globe.

The increased frequency of flights from Melbourne offers travellers a convenient and efficient way to explore South America. The direct route to Santiago, a major hub for the region, significantly reduces travel time compared to traditional routes through Europe or North America.
