Lindblad guests’ seal attack footage goes viral

Lindblad guests’ seal attack footage goes viral

We’re writing this for two reasons. Firstly to counteract our ‘blue ice’ article, and secondly, because Kevin is our new hero.

A group of passengers on Lindblad Expeditions’ National Geographic Explorer ship were lucky enough to get up close and personal with a pod of aggressive orcas.

The ship was travelling through the Grandidier Channel in Antarctica at the time.

The orcas were filmed working in unison to knock poor Kevin the seal off his sheet of ice, thankfully, to no avail.

As the orcas thrash around the tiny sheet of ice, Kevin dashed in and out of the water; fighting for his survival.

The footage, which has been viewed more than 45,000 times, was published on National Geographic’s Twitter page this morning.
