Luxperience 2023 kicks off in Sydney showcasing what’s hot in high end, luxury travel
Edited by Travel Weekly

Luxperience 2023 begins today, welcoming over 75 of the world’s best travel suppliers and 120+ elite travel professionals for three packed days of business meetings and social gatherings designed to drive exceptional luxury travel sales.

In a clear demonstration that luxury leisure travel is surpassing 2019 levels;

  • 20 per cent of elite travel buyers attending Luxperience regularly book travel of $40,000 + for their discerning clients (excluding air).
  • Almost 40 per cent of luxury buyers have 20+ years of luxury travel experience, demonstrating the ongoing value of expertise and professionalism.
  • 50 per cent of the world’s leading suppliers and 75 per cent of buyers are new to this high-end event, showcasing the surge in desire to uncover those new or untapped travel treasures for clients.

For more than 12 years, Luxperience has held a reputation as the most-effective annual hosted buyer event in Australia and New Zealand connecting high-end experiential travel advisors and professionals with the world’s elite luxury suppliers.

The high calibre of the event is underpinned by the fact that more than two thirds of the buyers attending have 10+ years selling luxury travel. Over one third have been honing their travel expertise for more than 20 years – clearly highlighting the value that experienced travel advisors bring to their clients.

This year’s Luxperience has attracted a high number of new exhibitors including Explora Journeys, Queenstown’s ultra-luxe Roki Collection, the French Tourist Bureau and Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli on Lake Garda.

Luxperience was acquired by the Flight Centre Travel Group in April this year, as part of the company’s growing Luxury Travel Collection, which includes the Travel Associates and Scott Dunn brands.

“I am looking forward to my first taste of this exceptional showcase,” CEO (leisure), FCTG, James Kavanagh, said.

“Luxperience continues to operate on its own merits as a separate business entity within our organisation and the strong leadership of the event, its reputation for quality over the past 12 years and the value it delivers to both national and international buyers and suppliers alike made it the ideal addition to our portfolio of travel.”

“We are extremely pleased with the calibre attracted to the boutique event this year, and with almost 60 per cent of travel suppliers new to Luxperience, it’s going to be a brilliant week of networking and discovery. We are thrilled for the future of this event as it returns to its full scale in 2024.”

“Luxury travel is one of the most exciting growth trends we are seeing as a company, making Luxperience a strong addition to our Luxury Travel Collection, and delivering exceptional quality and insight to the market.”

The event director of Luxperience, Lynn Ormiston, said she seeing buyers with a long history of luxury travel expertise interested in joining the event and finding new experiences for clients.

“Quality touring and unusual experiences are a growing industry trend overall,” she said.

Think ‘behind the scenes’ first hand experiences that can’t be found on Google, but are known by true travel insiders with years of expertise and industry insights.

“Exhibitors here include Journey Beyond, Tāpoi Travel, Fly in Greece Helicopters and Charters and Norwegian Adventures.”

“The world remains full of luxurious, yet intimate opportunities for the discerning customer to explore,” she said.

“This is where Luxperience offers the unique opportunity to connect the best high-end suppliers with pre-qualified buyers from Australia, NZ and the globe.”
