Edited by Travel Weekly

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced its 10th annual Silent Night on 8 December, in celebration of the art of stillness.

The global tradition invites guests to immerse themselves in a night of mindfulness and disconnection and dedicate a break from the busy holiday season. In commemoration of this milestone year, The Spas at Mandarin Oriental have elevated annual activations to include the Silent Retreat, an immersive sensory journey designed to foster self-discovery and peace.

Reflecting Mandarin Oriental’s commitment to wellness as a core value, Silent Night transforms the traditional spa experience into a sanctuary for the mind, body and soul. The Silent Retreat includes mindful movement, sound healing, and curated aromatherapy, allowing guests to access moments of reflection in immersive, nurturing spaces. As a world-class wellness destination, Mandarin Oriental Spas invite guests to explore the powerful impact of silence, reinforcing the Group’s dedication to creating spaces where tranquility and holistic wellbeing come to life.

Silent Night 2024 highlights include:

  • The Silent Retreat: This exclusive retreat honours the event’s tenth anniversary, inviting guests to engage in a guided, multisensory experience using sound therapy, purposeful movement, and aromatherapy to support introspection and rejuvenation. It offers a profound journey toward inner peace, bringing the benefits of silence to the forefront of personal wellness.
  • Commitment to Holistic Wellness: Silent Night embodies Mandarin Oriental’s vision of wellness as a truly transformative experience, demonstrating the Group’s commitment to cultivating calm, balanced environments for guests. This celebration of silence not only provides relaxation but also introduces personal practices that guests can carry forward, renewing their sense of balance and connection long after the event.

“Silent Night is a moment to embrace the meaningful impact of stillness and reflection in our lives,” Mandarin Oriental group director of leisure, spa and wellness, Jeremy McCarthy, said. “For the past decade, this tradition has underscored the importance of silence, providing a time and place for guests to reconnect and recalibrate. With the addition of the Silent Retreat, we are delighted to offer an even more immersive experience, fostering deep personal wellbeing through curated, mindful practices.”

Silent Night is more than a momentary pause; it is a tradition rooted in Mandarin Oriental’s commitment to nurturing balance, introspection, and harmony, perfectly attuned to the season’s spirit. By uniting guests in silence, Silent Night fosters a collective experience that transcends borders, inviting a true retreat for mind, body, and soul.
