Set in the lush uplands of Ba Vi National Park, Meliá Ba Vi Mountain Retreat becomes the first property in Vietnam to be part of the Meliá Hotels International collection.

The hand-picked collection of properties that make up the Meliá Collection brings together the company’s most distinctive and one-of-a-kind properties. And it deepens the brand’s commitment to introduce authentic destinations to travelers.

The destination, located within a national park was signed in May, with the official handover taking place in May 2025. The award-winning 55-room and villa property was selected for its commitment to sustainability, unique location and an unparalleled design aesthetic that fuses French colonial and Vietnamese village architecture.

“We have promoted the preservation of what Mother Nature offers and the cultural and historic values unique to Ba Vi Mountain,” owner of Melia Ba Vi Mountain Retreat, Luong Ngoc Anh said.

“Right from the start, our designs were nature-friendly and in harmony with the surroundings, honoring the enduring historical legacy. We want to bring our guests a feeling of harmony and comfort through experiences that connect the past and the present and embrace sustainable development.”

The resort will undergo refurbishments to further elevate its amenities with plans to enable guests to have a full experience of the property.

The resort, known for its nature-based excursions, will have a strong emphasis on delivering exclusive experiences to guests. These experiences will range from a guided tour of the 200 relics in the historic French hill station to a rejuvenating forest bathing session.

The highlight of this excursion is a meditation session to the symphony of nature sounds set against the soothing backdrop of a cascading waterfall.

Guests can also partake in a hands-on workshop to learn the natural dyeing techniques used for generations by the indigenous ethnic community residing in the area.
