Midweek Interview with Club Med’s Zoe Gentle
This week, Zoe Gentle, a business development manager for Club Med, invited us to hang out in Mauritius. Ok, fine – we emailed her from the office.
The things I like about my job…
The incredible humans that I come across every day from all walks of life. Whether it be a Travel Agent where I am able to share travel stories with or travellers that I am able to share the excitement of their upcoming trips with. Exploring the world is so exciting and means different things to everybody, I love learning this.
And the frustrations are…
When the skills of travel professionals are underrated from quick easy fixes such as the internet. Nothing can compare to personal experiences from professionals that have tried and tested the products that they are selling.
If I didn’t work in travel I would be…
Working with animals.
Favourite airline?
After working for Toll Dnata for a few years, I have to say that my heart lies with Emirates.
My proudest moment was…
Becoming a Finalist for NTIA in 2017 for ‘Sales Executive of the year’.
WHAT AN AMAZING FEELING!
The naughtiest thing I ever did was…
Throw a house party for myself and 50 of my friends while my parents were travelling around Europe. It turned out to be huge and my High School friends still talk about it 14 years on..
**PLEASE DON’T SEND THIS TO MY PARENTS! HAHA!**
I try to relax by…
Reading a book or chatting to my 92-year-old grandmother on the phone, her stories always make me laugh and puts life into perspective.
The last time I feared for my life was…
Paragliding down the side of Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica… How I got myself to the bottom I will never know..
If I can, I always try to avoid…
Tomato…in all forms.
I really wish I had…
Unlimited frequent flyer points!
The best advice I’ve ever received was…
You can always make more money, experiences and relationships are priceless.
I don’t understand why people…
Dip McDonald’s fries into their sundaes.
My greatest weakness is…
An all-inclusive package…
Current situation while writing this – sipping cosmopolitans, watching the sunset at Club Med La Plantation l’Albion, Mauritius!
And my greatest strength is…
The ability to talk myself out of the most awkward situations.
If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…
Responsible Zoe should probably pay off her mortgage and invest the rest, but fun Zoe really wants to build a treehouse with a flying fox.
Can’t guarantee which Zoe would win the argument.
If I was prime minister I would…
Implement a four-day working week (more time for adventures!)
If I could be someone else for one day I would be a…
Gal Galdot – who wouldn’t want to be Wonderwoman?!
I’ve always wanted to travel to…
Jamaica – I love bongos.
My favourite holiday was…
Greece and Croatia with my family in 2014. It was such an incredible experience showing my mum and dad my favourite place on earth.
