Mondrian Hong Kong, the luxury hotel overlooking Victoria Harbour in Tsim Sha Tsu, has won two more awards at the AHEAD Asia Awards for Hospitality Experience and Design.

The hotel took home the “Best Hotel Renovation” and the “Best Restaurant Design” awards at the gala evening in Singapore. This follows the hotel’s creative design by byKK and its signature steakhouse, Carna by Dario Cecchini.

The AHEAD Asia Awards celebrates the finest creative minds that are shaping the hospitality design industry. Mondrian Hong Kong and Carna by Dario Cecchini were recognised out of over 170 entries by a group of esteemed judges and industry leaders, which is a wonderful reflection of the incredible collaboration between the hotel’s designers, owner, and operators, including the teams at byKK, Joyce Wang Studio, and Ennismore, who combined their energy and passion to create a bold and visionary transformation.

Part of Ennismore, a joint venture with Accor, and the world’s fastest-growing lifestyle hospitality company, with 17 brands, two independent F&B groups, over 160 open hotels, more than 100 in the pipeline, and 500+ open restaurants and bars with 400+ in the pipeline, Mondrian Hong Kong immerses visitors in the energy of this iconic Asian city.

An urban landmark in its own right, the hotel building was selected by Ennismore for its distinctive, futuristic architecture. The brand’s commitment to art and design flows through the entire property; from the spectacular mosaic in the lobby and the dramatic video installation on the 38th floor, to the unique artworks and playful guestroom concept which reflects the city’s rich heritage, this is a hotel that always inspires the imagination and stimulates the senses.

Carna by Dario Cecchini, on the 39th floor of the hotel, is a contemporary steakhouse that lets diners discover the nose-to-tail cuisine of Dario Cecchini, the renowned Netflix celebrity chef and butcher. Conceived as an authentic Tuscan restaurant with jaw-dropping views of Hong Kong’s harbour and skyline, this dramatic dining destination creates extraordinary epicurean experiences.

“Design is a fundamental part of unique experiences, enhancing innovative service in beautiful environments, allowing us to dive into profound storytelling and connect with our guests in a way that’s meaningful and lasting. We are thrilled to win two prestigious titles at the AHEAD Asia Awards 2024,” Mondrian Hong Kong general manager, Dirk Dalichau, said.

“To be selected as the best in Asia in such competitive categories is a true honour, and we are very grateful to everyone who helped us make this vision a reality. Thank you to Sleeper magazine and the AHEAD Asia Awards for this recognition, and to our partners who’ve been with us every step of the way.”

The two AHEAD Asia Awards mark the latest international accolades for Mondrian Hong Kong, which has received multiple awards since it opened its doors in Q4 2023. The hotel triumphed in three categories (“Interior Design – Living Space” in the “Hotel – Luxury”, “Asia”, and “Interior Design – Renovation” categories) in the LIV Interior Design Awards and received a gold award in the GBE Hotel Design Awards.

Carna by Dario Cecchini was included in the SCMP 100 Top Tables list and achieved the “Best Restaurant Readers’ Choice Award” in the Foodie Forks Awards and the “Must Try Restaurants to Treat Yourself Better” title in the Weekend Weekly Food Award, and Avoca, the spectacular top floor bar, was honoured with the “Best Bar Readers’ Choice” and “Best Cocktail Programme” awards in the Time Out Bar Awards.

Both F&B venues have also achieved the “Recommended Western Restaurant Wine Pairing” awards from Wine Luxe Magazine.

Mondrian Hong Kong is part of a curated collection of Mondrian hotels in the world’s “must-visit” destinations, such as Los Angeles, New York, London, and Singapore.
