The 234-room Melia Pattaya Hotel, the first of six hotels planned for The Aquatique Destinations Pattaya, a mega mixed-use development site on the famous strip, has opened in Thailand.

The hotel includes the first-ever Lay Beach Club with Hydro Bar, together with a panoramic rooftop Chinese dining facility, Yitong Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar.

Asset World Corp in partnership with Melia Hotels International officially launched the hotel on January 24 with the opening of the 2 billion baht ($AU95 million) venue part of AWC’s long-term investment in the city.

Asset World Corp is one of Thailand’s leading integrated lifestyle real estate groups, while Meliá Hotels International is one of the world’s largest beachfront hotel and resort operators.

Meliá Pattaya Hotel is designed to strengthen Pattaya’s position as a top-tier tourist destination in Asia and the world, Asset World Corp CEO and president Wallapa Traisorat said.

“We are delighted to expand our long-standing partnership with Meliá Hotels International through the introduction of Meliá Pattaya Hotel, Thailand, our first property on eastern coast of Thailand,” she said.

“This vibrant destination blends Meliá’s signature Spanish-inspired hospitality with the dynamic charm of Pattaya, offering both international and domestic travellers an unparalleled seaside sanctuary.

“This property and the long-term investment mark a significant milestone in redefining Pattaya’s tourism landscape, boosting local prosperity by creating jobs and economic value for surrounding communities,” Wallapa said.

Meliá Pattaya Hotel has been developed with AWC’s sustainable framework in mind, she said, focusing on Better Planet through its pursuit of Chonburi’s first LEED and WELL Gold-level certified hotel to minimise environmental impact, Better People by featuring The GALLERY to support local products, and Better Prosperity by creating jobs and economic value for surrounding communities through long-term investment.

Meliá Hotels International chairman and CEO of Gabriel Escarrer Jaume said Meliá Pattaya Hotel, Thailand represents a significant milestone in its expansion across Asia, building on the success of the opening of INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit last year.

“Through this collaboration with AWC, our most important strategic partner in Thailand, we are confident in delivering a truly unique and transformative hospitality experience. Pattaya, being one of the most popular global tourist destinations, is the perfect location for this hotel.

“Our Spanish roots and dedication to well-being, combined with AWC’s visionary approach, ensure that guests will discover a refined sense of place, memorable interactions, and exceptional services, while immersing themselves in local narratives that seamlessly blend with Spanish culture, further enriching their experience.”

Meliá Pattaya Hotel, Thailand caters to a diverse range of guests, from workcation professionals or digital nomads to MICE groups to lifestyle-focused millennials and affluent holidaymakers seeking a vibrant atmosphere.

Within its 234 rooms, the design concept blends contemporary vintage aesthetics and authentic local narratives, offering a fresh look experience on Pattaya’s iconic coast.

The Lay Beach Club – AWC and Meliá’s first-ever beach club in Thailand – features a dedicated rooftop with sunset seascapes, an open-air cinema, curated DJ performances, and upbeat music, the club blends indoor and outdoor spaces.

Its step-seating design flows into a pool with spa functions and an artificial sand beach, while an iconic bar offers signature cocktails, creating a lively and immersive beachfront experience that redefines seaside leisure.

Beyond the beach club, the hotel offers a range of amenities, including an outdoor hangout yard, a kid’s club pool, The Level Club Lounge, YHI Spa, gym, and a cinema room.

Dining options are thoughtfully curated to blend culture and creativity. Guests can savor Mediterranean-inspired All-Day Dining experience at Sanehh Sarae, explore Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei culinary heritage at Den, or enjoy modern Cantonese-Sichuan cuisine at Yitong Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar. These venues are complemented by Chon Lounge (Lobby Bar) and Lula Beach Bar.

Meliá Pattaya Hotel, Thailand” will cater to both international and domestic travellers, meeting the rising demand for sophisticated leisure and MICE experiences in this vibrant beachfront city, in alignment with Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) development plans.

Set amid enhanced connectivity projects like the forthcoming Pattaya monorail and improved links to high-speed rail from U-Tapao Airport, the hotel will contribute to Pattaya’s growth as a world-class beachfront destination, while strengthening Pattaya’s position as a global sustainable tourism destination.

“Meliá Pattaya Hotel, Thailand is not merely a new hotel; it is a forward-looking statement of intent,” Wallapa concluded.

“By complementing the evolving tourism infrastructure and upholding sustainable principles, we aim to ensure that guests and the local community alike will benefit from a destination that celebrates creativity, cultural authenticity, and the pursuit of well-being.

“This property embodies the next chapter in Pattaya’s journey toward becoming a truly world-class destination.”
