Pier One Sydney Harbour launches dog-friendly meetings in partnership with RSPCA NSW

Pier One Sydney Harbour has launched dog-friendly meetings and events at the harbourfront hotel and announced its partnership with RSPCA NSW, taking the hotel’s reputation to the next level.

Pets have an enormous psychological impact in the workplace, having been shown to boost srotonin and dopamine levels and in turn increase morale, satisfaction, and productivity. The new packages at Pier One are designed to extend these positive benefits into meetings, while offering delegates the benefit of convenience to freely travel for business with their pets.

Pier One Sydney Harbour general manager, Kim Mahaffy, said: “Australia has one of the highest pet ownership rates in the world, and as a hotel that prides ourselves on being authentically pet-friendly we see a large volume of dog owners through our doors – many whom have expressed an interest in a dog-friendly offering that extends into the meetings and conferencing arena. We are thrilled to be working with RSPCA NSW to bring this vision to life.”

Guests that booking a meeting in the hotel’s waterfront Dawes Point Rooms, Bridge Room, and Water Room can bring their pups to join their meetings. Pets receive morning and afternoon tea, a two-course plated menu of steak with carrots or chicken with green peas complete with doglato for dessert. They will also get a blanket for the duration of the conference, access to doggy-doo bags, and a bone toy to take home for $49 per pup with a maximum of 12 pups per meeting.

In partnership with RSPCA NSW, Pier One is offering the option to upgrade all meetings at the hotel with RSPCA’s “Ambassadogs” who thrive on socialisation and would join events with an RSPCA NSW companion for a one-to-two-hour block during morning tea and downtime.

Pier One Sydney Harbour director of sales & distribution, Kerri Hamilton, said: “Not only does this give RSPCA’s ‘Ambassadogs’ an outing to look forward to, but we know that pets can serve as a fantastic icebreaker during networking breaks – helping delegates to create and build connections whilst the pups enjoy receiving some cuddles.”

Delegates could also choose to enhance their meeting with an educational talk from RSPCA NSW about their vision and the work they do. They will also have the option to have an inspector or RSPCA NSW CEO Steve Coleman himself deliver the talk.

To complement these dog-friendly meetings, Pier One is also introducing enhanced pet-friendly staycation options that allow guests and their pets to enjoy a luxurious overnight experience. The staycation includes a complimentary Pier One navy dog bandana with distinct anchor design, adding a stylish touch to a pet’s wardrobe.

Those looking to further spoil their pets can take advantage of the dog minibar, available at an additional charge, that offers an array of premium treats and snacks. Guests can also treat their pets to a specially curated Pup Snack Breakfast Buffet.

As part of its dedication to animal welfare, Pier One Sydney Harbour is proud to support RSPCA NSW. Pier One is donating $5 for each pet package booking to the RSPCA, allowing them to celebrate the joy of pet ownership and contribute to the vital work of caring for animals in need.
