Qantas soon to open enhanced Broome Regional Lounge
Edited by Travel Weekly

Qantas customers travelling through regional Western Australia will soon enjoy an enhanced airport experience with the development of the new Broome Regional Lounge starting today.

Due to open in December 2024, the new space will be double the capacity of the existing lounge following consistent strong demand from premium travellers to the area, in addition to the expansion of the airport terminal.

“We are thrilled to bring this new, elevated lounge experience to our customers in Broome, a popular destination on our network,” Qantas chief customer and digital officer, Catriona Larritt, said.

“Western Australia is a key market for us and our continued investment in the state underscores our commitment to supporting visitation to Broome and providing exceptional experiences for our customers
who are travelling through for business or leisure.”

The architecture of the lounge will reflect the surrounding Kimberley area, ensuring customers are immersed in the region’s natural landscape from the moment they step in.

Rich, vibrant colours inspired by Dampier Peninsula, connecting Broome to the remote Kimberley coast, will be also prominent throughout the design fitout, including deep red hues from the James Price Point landscape, bright oranges representing the sand and soil at Roebuck Bay, and blue tones drawing from Willie Creek.

The existing lounge will remain open throughout the redevelopment of the new Broome Regional Lounge, which is part of the Flying Kangaroo’s $100 million investment to upgrade its global lounge network.

Qantas operates seasonal flights to Broome with direct routes from Sydney and Melbourne between April and October, and year-round flights from Perth.

Qantas has significantly enhanced its network of lounges in Australia and overseas. The $100-million investment features four new lounges, including a new flagship First Lounge at London’s Heathrow Airport, and an extensive upgrade program of existing international and domestic lounges, including a refreshed Hong Kong International Lounge, Sydney International Business Lounge refurbishment and expansion and an updated and expanded International Business Lounge in Melbourne, plus a new Hobart Qantas Club.
