Air New Zealand chief hints at quirky safety video in time for Christmas

Air New Zealand is putting the finishing touches to its latest quirky safety video with a release before Christmas.

“I haven’t said that to anyone else,” Air New Zealand chief customer officer and sales Leanne Geraghty told Travel Weekly before Day 2 of the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Australia Pacific 2024 in Brisbane today.

“I think our brand personality has set us apart on the world stage over the years,” Geraghty told Travel Weekly.

“We are known for our tone of voice and our personality in market, we are a premium carrier but we like to describe ourselves as premium with a wink,” she said.

Over the years, that wink includes the Kiwi national carrier featuring everything from the stars of the Lord of the Rings to the All Blacks as Men in Black in its safety videos which attract global attention.

“They are fun, we have a new one on the way,” Geraghty said.

“We are in the final stages of production, adding some music and effects, I’ve seen the first cut.

“We might out it into market before Christmas.”
