When you think of the busiest routes in the world, cities such as London, Paris or New York may come to mind.

But, new data released by Diio by Cirium has revealed the busiest route in the world is in fact between Jeju and Deoul’s Gimbo Airport in South Korea, when measured by the number of flights and number of seats.

The Sydney – Melbourne route is often near the top of the list, and was for some time the busiest route in the world.

Tokyo features twice on the list, with routes to Fukuoka and Sapporo.

The busiest US route by number of flights is New York LaGuardia-Chicago O’Hare.
