REVEALED: The spookiest spots in Los Angeles

At Travel Weekly, we love a spooky travel adventure.

And what better time than the spooky season to find the perfect destination that your client (or you) can venture to for a scare.

Of course, Los Angeles is perfect for travellers looking to explore the world of scares, frights, spooks and anything else they crave for their Halloween adventures.

Check out some of the iconic spots below:

Iconic houses and locations of Hollywood’s on-screen killers: Cult classics, Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street are still amongst the scariest of the genre and for horror buffs what better way to spend Halloween than visiting the iconic locations of all the slasher favourites?

Stop by the infamous home of Michael Myers; The Hardware store, where Myers shoplifts the iconic Halloween mask; the gym where Carrie rained carnage on her peers; the Poltergeist house and the quaint house in A Nightmare on Elm Street, where Freddy Krueger stalked poor Nancy’s dreams.

American Horror Story: Murder House: A must see, the beautiful Victorian-era home built in 1902, has an eerily dark interior and has been a favourite among fans since it debuted in 2011. Keep your eyes peeled for any ghouls lingering.

Jordan Peele’s Nope: Currently playing in cinemas now, Jordan Peele’s latest ominous flick was shot in L.A., with the original set from the Jupiter’s Claim theme park now included in the Universal Studios Hollywood Backlot Studio Tour.

El Coyote Cafe: True crime buffs will recognise this as the restaurant where Sharon Tate and her entourage had their last meal, before the gruesome events of the ‘Manson Family Murders’ (as seen in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).

Hollywood Forever Cemetery: Founded in 1899 and the final resting place for hundreds of Hollywood’s legendary players. The weeping woman heard near the lake is said to be the spirit of young Virginia Rappe.

Hollywood Roosevelt: This glamorous hotel opened in the thick of Hollywood’s heyday in 1927, and legend says Marilyn Monroe still haunts her old room (1200) where she lived as a budding starlet.- Only spend a night here if you can brave the ghouls gracing the grounds.
