Royal Caribbean International has unveiled two exclusive immersion sailings aboard Ovation of the Seas for the 2024-2025 season, celebrating the second year of its highly successful partnership with Ponting Wines, co-founded by Australian cricket legend Ricky Ponting.

The two seven-night voyages will take guests on a journey to Tasmania and Adelaide, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for wine lovers and food enthusiasts. The itineraries, departing from Sydney on November 21, 2024, and March 15, 2025, combine adventure with indulgence, as passengers immerse themselves in the art of winemaking while enjoying the world-class amenities aboard Ovation of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean is the only cruise company with Ponting Wines onboard!

At the heart of the experience are exclusive wine tastings led by Ponting Wines’ award-winning winemaker Ben Riggs. With over 35 years of expertise and a passion for sustainable winemaking, Riggs will host a series of tastings at Ovation of the Seas’ Vintages wine bar. Guests will sample Ponting Wines’ signature varietals, including the crisp First Session Sauvignon Blanc and bold Pinnacle Shiraz. The sessions, available for booking via the Royal Caribbean app or Cruise Planner, will also feature a complimentary immersion and Q&A with Riggs, providing an inside look into the mastery behind the wines.

In addition to the onboard wine immersion, travellers can savour the gastronomic delights of their destinations. In Adelaide, passengers will explore boutique cafes and fine dining, while in Hobart, they can embark on shore excursions to sample fresh oysters or tour the city’s iconic Battery Point and Salamanca Place.

Ricky Ponting expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership’s second year, saying, “I’m incredibly excited to embark on another season with Royal Caribbean,” he said.

“The response to Ponting Wines last year was phenomenal, and we’re thrilled to elevate the experience with these new sailings. Guests will enjoy our wines while discovering Australia’s gourmet culture, with highlights like the Adelaide Oval Stadium tour.”

Royal Caribbean’s Kathryn Lock, Senior Marketing Director for Australia and New Zealand added, “The inaugural season with Ponting Wines was met with overwhelming excitement, with guests loving the opportunity to savour premium wines while at sea.”

“We’re excited to bring this partnership to new heights for the 2024-2025 season, combining Ponting Wines’ exceptional quality with the adventure and luxury of a Royal Caribbean cruise.”

These sailings promise a fusion of fine wines, exquisite food, and stunning destinations, delivering an unforgettable experience for travelers seeking a luxury getaway with a distinct culinary twist.
