Sabre leads agent team to Hong Kong Sevens

Travel technology provider Sabre took to the stands with travel agents and other industry players from across Asia Pacific over the weekend at the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens event.

Members of the global Sabre Travel Network team gathered in Hong Kong to keep score with industry leaders from around the region as they took in one of Asia’s most anticipated sporting events of the year, the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens. The line-up kicked off with a half day business forum discussing key issues and opportunities facing the corporate travel industry, followed by a presentation from Sir Gordon Tietjens, Head Coach for the All Blacks Sevens, before heading pitch side.

Roshan Mendis, senior vice president of Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific, spoke about Sabre’s offerings for Asia Pacific, including offering travel agencies a more global proposition and strategic solutions to leverage new opportunities around data, personalisation, up-selling and automation.

Famous All Blacks Sevens coach, Sir Gordon Tietjens, shares training techniques and stories of mental toughness with Sabre and members of the APAC travel industry. Tietjens will lead the All Blacks Sevens to the 2016 Olympics in Rio this year, where sevens is being played for the first time.

Keng Chong Teo, director of Traveller Experience for Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific, discussed technologies for travel managers and TMCs to enhance each stage of the travellers’ journey before taking to the stands at the Hong Kong Stadium.
