Samode Haveli in Jaipur: A Glorious Oasis in Jaipur
Nestled in the heart of the Pink City, Jaipur, the Samode Haveli is a true gem that effortlessly marries history, luxury, and tranquillity.
This magnificent heritage hotel is a testament to Rajasthan’s rich architectural heritage, offering an experience like no other and was the perfect base for our 4-night stay in Jaipur.
Look and feel
Samode Haveli tells a captivating story, echoing the grandeur of its Rajput roots. This architectural masterpiece dates to over 175 years, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship and regal elegance of the bygone era.
What struck us on arrival was the historic ambience which is so artfully preserved, from the intricately designed frescoes in the main guest reception area to the ornate and peaceful courtyards, giving us a taste of past royal life, but without any garish opulence. It’s elegant and artfully beautiful!
The location
Samode Haveli enjoys a prime location in the heart of Jaipur, making it the perfect location to explore this vibrant city. It’s conveniently situated close to the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and the bustling bazaars of the Pink City, ensuring you are never far from the city’s cultural and historical treasures, but just far enough to avoid the city’s hustle and bustle.
Rooms
Samode Haveli offers a variety of room types, each with its own unique charm. From the opulent Royal Suites with their ornate furnishings to the more modest yet equally elegant Deluxe Rooms, there’s a room to suit every preference and budget. Whichever you choose, you’ll find yourself surrounded by classic Rajasthani decor, luxurious amenities, and an ambience that exudes both comfort and history.
Food
The culinary team at Samode Haveli is known for its exceptional attention to detail and the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The result is a dining experience that reflects the essence of Rajasthan’s rich culinary heritage while offering a variety of international options to cater to different palates. From aromatic local curries (which can take up to 24 hours to prepare) to delectable desserts, your taste buds are in for a delightful journey during your stay at the Haveli.
Dining beneath the starlit sky in the open courtyard is a particularly magical experience, and each night there were wonderful local musicians performing, it’s also a charming spot for breakfast. The Bar at Samode Haveli offers a wide selection of beverages, including cocktails, wines, and spirits. It’s the ideal place to unwind after a day of exploration. Although the go to pre-dinner drinking spot for us was the rooftop bar which provided a breathtaking view of the city and to experience the golden tones of sunset.
Experiences
Stepping into the Samode Haveli is like entering into a world of serenity and calm, and for us, it quickly became our home away from home. The lush, well-tended gardens, beautifully landscaped courtyards, and tranquil fountains create an oasis of peace and relaxation and the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.
A pool was high on the wish list for us, and this one is the jewel in the heart of the Haveli. Surrounded by the lush greenery and regal arches (that cast a beautiful reflection in the evening), it’s an ideal spot to soak up the sun, enjoy a refreshing swim, read a book or savour a cocktail. The pool area was our go to after a busy morning of exploration and offered a welcome respite from the Jaipur heat.
There is also a lovely spa, gym and yoga on request.
Samode Haveli offers a wide range of activities to enrich your stay. You can begin your day with an early morning walk into the local village and food market which for us was one of the absolute highlights and is a must do.
Again, through the hotel concierge, organised guided tours to nearby attractions can be made, allowing you to explore Jaipur’s iconic landmarks, palaces, and temples, like Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar, Palace of the Winds and many more of the city’s treasures. Then there is the shopping and textile places! Our driver knew of the best spots!
Additionally, the hotel can arrange cultural performances and cooking classes, allowing you to dive into the local culture and traditions.
Service
The staff at Samode Haveli are truly exceptional. From the moment you arrive, you’re treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. The team goes above and beyond to cater to your every need, ensuring that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Their dedication to providing top-notch service is truly commendable. They were responsive, listened to your needs and requests and actioned them. The concierge, Rajesh was always available to give us customised advice, securing our driver and guide, as required each day and briefed our driver Gokal on what we wanted to do and see and was always there to greet and farewell us as we set off on our daily excursions.
