Scenic does South America in 2016

Scenic Tours has released its 2016 program, jumping headfirst into the heart of South America.

The new program features an extra destination, a number of fresh itineraries, plus a number of hotels, and cultural and dining experiences, all in the hot South American destination.

Guests can discover more of Patagonia with the introduction of the lakeside town of Bariloche, set in the foothills of the Andes in the Argentine Lakes District on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake.

The new itineraries – three in total – range from 14 to 40 days, and include a stopover in Barlioche, home to spectacular scenery and German Baroque-influenced architecture.

Another new itinerary for 2016 is Treasures of Central and South America, a 14 or 25 day tour showcasing the highlights of both regions including Cuba, Panama, Galápagos Islands and Patagonia.

But it doesn’t stop there, with Scenic also expanding its small ship cruising itineraries to include a 27-day Central American Discovery tour, which uncovers lesser known ports in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala, before sailing along to the Panama Canal.

Plus, due to overwhelming demand, Scenic will also be operating three private charters to Antarctica in 2016 on 5-star luxury small ships, Le Boréal and Le Lyrial – the newest and the first all-balcony stateroom and suite ships to cruise to Antarctica.

New cultural experiences include Scenic Sundowners – an exclusive cocktail reception to toast the days’ end at some of South America’s sexiest spots in destinations such as the Galápagos Islands, Havana and Patagonia.

GM of product development Aleisha Fittler said the company has perfected the luxury journey through South America.

“We really understand this region and what our guests want and strive to enhance our program year on year with new destinations and experiences,” she said.

“We believe that this is our best collection of itineraries yet so encourage agents to book their clients their preferred tour early.”

Scenic is kicking off the program with some Earlybird offers for bookings made by September 30 2015, including a ‘partner flies free’ on tours of more than 16 days, or savings of up to $1,500 per couple with an airfare credit.

Solo traveller offers and business class upgrades are also available.

The new Scenic 2016 South America brochure is out now.
