Shelley Poten shares three exciting new itineraries for 2025 with Albatross Tours: Travel Weekly TV
Edited by Travel Weekly

This week on Travel Weekly TV we catch up with Shelley Poten, the managing director of Albatross Tours who shares some brand new sale offerings ready for your clients right now!

Creating memories that last a lifetime, Albatross Tours has been crafting the holidays of Australian and New Zealand traveller’s dreams for 25 years.

Dive into this week’s episode below to hear all about the new offerings with Albatross Tours and get to know a bit more about Shelley Poten!

Poten herself is an experienced travel industry figure who began her career at Jetset Travelworld before taking roles under the Flight Centre umbrella as well as Tourism Queensland.

Asked about her career in the industry, Poten noted one of her highlights as a life-changing stint in the U.S.

“That career with Flight Centre took me all around Australia and all around the world, one of the highlights was actually living in Chicago where I met my other half… So quite a life with quite a life with Flight Centre,” Poten said.

Catering strictly to Australian and New Zealand travellers, Poten says one of the key differences with Albatross Tours is the length of stay at a destination.

Aware that Aussie and Kiwi travellers often want to stay longer in one spot because of the amount of time it took them to get there, Albatross Tours spends between three and five nights in destinations on summer tours.

“They can really just be in the same hotel, be in the same village, unpack and relax, get that authentic experience whilst they’re going out and doing excursions in the day to see the sights.

“So it’s a really different way of touring.”

Poten also revealed what she’s most excited about for the end of the year, the brand new brochure detailing the summer 2025 touring range with space available for advisors to book right now with a special perk.

“We’ve brought out an early bird deal for them [advisors], they can access $350  off per person per tour if booked by 31 July this year.”
