SmartRefunds solution by Air Tickets surpasses 10,000 and climbing

Air Tickets is celebrating hitting 10,000 users of its SmartRefunds technology less than a year after launching.

A feature of the SmartSuite of technology, SmartRefunds was the first instant online refund capability in market, created, owned and operated by Helloworld Travel’s Air Tickets.

Designed specifically to increase efficiency for agents, in two clicks, refunds are processed online instantly via the GDS, delivering the quickest turnaround of funds to both agents and in turn the end customer.

“We recognised challenges in the market relating to the complexity of the refund process, so we set out to create and offer an automated solution,” said Air Tickets business systems manager Diana Mufic, one of the key players in the development of SmartRefunds.

“The bottom line is it vastly increases agent productivity, saving between 15 and 60 minutes per refund, offering online capabilities whilst eliminating frequent touchpoints and follow-ups.

“It can also be used as an online refund quotation tool. Our users can now easily determine the refund value, providing the agent and the end customer with the exact refund amount before proceeding to refund.”

Air Tickets became the first Australian and New Zealand consolidator to offer instant online refund capabilities in market and now more than 2,700 travel agents and over 10,000 travel consultants are benefiting from this pioneering technology.

“It’s the ultimate time saver for agents. By removing the time and effort of calculating refunds, it allows more time for selling and revenue generation,” said Helloworld Travel group general manager consolidation, Rohan Moss.

“The agent feedback has been nothing short of incredible. We knew while we were developing the SmartRefunds solution that it was going to be a hit, but the enthusiasm with which it has been embraced is surpassing what we had expected, and we are not even a year since launch.
