Snake on a plane, for real

You thought the movie Snakes on a Plane was ridiculous, but those script writers were probably on to something.

Passengers on an Aeromexico flight in Mexico were given a shock when a greenish serpent slithered into the cabin mid-flight on Sunday afternoon, forcing an impromptu landing of Flight 231.

The live snake was taken by animal control shortly after landing in Mexico City, according to a report on news.com.au.

A video posted to Twitter shows a greenish snake emerging from the ceiling behind an overhead luggage compartment and then partially dropping into the cabin.

No passengers were injured due to the incident, but it is understood two passengers caught the snake using a blanket before the emergency staff arrived.

The airline is said to be investigating how the snake got onto the plane.
