Snapchat unveils new AR travel experience

Social media app Snapchat has announced a new augmented reality (AR) travel experience involving some of the world’s most iconic destinations and travel monuments.

People visiting sites such as Paris’ Arc de Triomphe or Mumbai’s Gateway of India can now experience these iconic travel landmarks in a totally different way using Snapchat’s ‘Landmarker’ feature.

Landmarkers are Snapchat Lenses that enable AR experiences that transform a selection of the most recognised landmarks across the globe in real time.

Activated via the Snapchat camera, each Landmarker uses AR technology to create a unique and shareable experience of each travel landmark.
