Social Friday: Jetstar intern who compared CEO to Cruella de Vil speaks out

Not since the arrival of Easyjet’s sense of humour onto social platforms has there been a post from an airline that’s spread as fast as this one from Jetstar.

A marketing staffer, self described as “the best intern” made a comparison between the airline’s CEO and Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians.

“We have return flights + 4 nights in Bali from $442^ and my boss is making me tell you cause she is busy catching Dalmatians for her new coat or something, ” the post said.

Jetstar Facebook page.

The Jetstar Facebook account then responded to comments made under the post, in what can only be described as award-winning fashion.

One person asked if the boss could arrange cheaper fares to Vietnam

“They are busy with the coat,” the intern replied.

At this stage the post has 2,200 comments, 82 shares and 1,600 emoji reactions.

Speaking exclusively on the condition of anonymity, the intern said “I was only joking my boss would never do that (paid).”

While the idea of Cruella de Vil being CEO of Jetstar may sound a bit far-fetched, the idea of someone like her running an airline does sound like something worthy of a Netflix series.

Plus, it would make for some interesting press conferences.
