Tassie beauty brand releases zero-waste BYO amenities kit

A Tasmanian beauty brand is encouraging travellers to bring their own amenities in the name of sustainable travel.

To help encourage more sustainable travel practices, Beauty and the Bees has launched an entirely zero-waste and plastic-free BYO amenities set.

The idea spawned from a collaboration with Hobart luxury hotel The Tasman, which saw the brand develop its The Sampler range, including hand-luggage-friendly shampoo, conditioner and cleansing bars and a moisturising body balm, all handmade with Tasmania’s leatherwood honey, high-grade local herb extracts and other 100 per cent natural ingredients, largely sourced from the island’s exceptional primary producers.

The Luxury Skin & Hair Sampler includes pH balanced solid shampoo, conditioner, cleansing bar and a moisturising body balm. Each hand luggage friendly 75g box holds enough product for about a month away, and along with it the promise of leaving no plastic or detergent waste behind.

The best part? Each sampler prevents at least 12 mini plastic bottles from ending up on beaches.

To support those wanting to push for change when they travel, the kit includes a note that can be left for hotel housekeeping informing staff that amenities provided can be taken back, unused.
