The international Hilton brand is set to debut in the Republic of Moldova with the opening of its first hotel in Chisinau, marking a significant step in strengthening the country’s HORECA industry.

The endeavour provides tourists with another option for world-class accommodations, excellence in standards and premium services.

“Hilton’s entry into the Moldovan market is an important milestone for us,” Invest Moldova Agency director, Natalia Bejan, said. “Moldova is an emerging destination with a lot of untapped potential, and we believe that this investment will not only raise the standard of hospitality in the country but also further catalyze the growth of tourism and economic performance.

“We look forward to welcoming Hilton to our country and working together to bring new levels of service to both domestic and international guests.”

Hilton Garden Inn project will be carried out through an extensive reconstruction of the historic Dacia Hotel building, located in the historic center of the capital. The transformation will involve expanding and modernizing the structure to meet Hilton standards, providing guests with premium accommodation. The grand opening of the newly renovated hotel is anticipated for 2026.

The local investment in the franchise project starts with an initial allocation of EUR 5 million (around AUD 8.2 million), with projections to reach EUR 10-12 million (around AUD 16.4 to 19.7 million) in the coming years. Currently, the Dacia Hotel already employs dozens of people, and its integration into the Hilton chain will create opportunities for professional development and staff expansion.

“We are confident that this project will be a success and will provide top-quality services to tourists, whether they come from abroad of from Moldova,” Dacia Hotel manager, Lulia Scurtu, said.

Hilton Garden Inn is a full-service American hotel chain owned by Hilton Worldwide, catering to both business and leisure travellers by offering an elevated accommodation experience. The network includes over 860 properties with 126,086 rooms across 49 countries and territories.

The Investment Agency is dedicated to promoting Moldova as an attractive destination for international investment. By focusing on opportunities that showcase Moldova’s growth and stability, the Agency works to foster a favorable environment for businesses seeking to invest in and grow alongside Moldova.
