Traveller’s Choice welcomes teacher-focused travel agency to its network

Travellers Choice has announced the addition of Tertiary Travel to its network of independent travel agencies.

Established almost 40 years ago, Tertiary Travel operates branches in the Sydney suburbs of Homebush and Rooty Hill, as well as the Perth suburb of West Perth. The agency provides leisure and corporate travel to members, family and friends of the Teachers Mutual Bank, one of Australia’s largest customer-owned banks.

Travellers Choice general manager of sales Nicola Strudwick said Tertiary Travel is a natural fit for Travellers Choice, which was itself established more than 40 years ago on co-operative principals.

“Clearly our two organisations share similar cultural and business philosophies,” said Strudwick.

“As fellow members of the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals, we are both focused on delivering the maximum benefits and returns to our customers, who also happen to be our sole shareholders.

“Most importantly, Tertiary Travel is positioned for exciting growth and no retail group provides independent travel agents with more valuable and effective support services than Travellers Choice. This includes the hands-on support provided by our business development managers, Paula Moylan (New South Wales) and Tim Bolton (Western Australia), who are always available to offer their expertise and experience.”

Tertiary Travel general manager Darryl Laverty said Travellers Choice’s innovative arrangement with online travel agent TripADeal and its selection of digital marketing tools and support services were key drivers in the decision to join the group.

“But more broadly we were attracted to the breadth of services offered and the fact that, when we engaged with current members of the group, they really validated the level of continuous support Travellers Choice provides its members,” Laverty said.

“In the end, after speaking to members, it became an easy decision.”
