Damaged again in the 1990s by armed conflict, it is now the focus of a major restoration program co-ordinated by UNESCO. The orange-tiled roofs are one of Dubrovnik Old Town signatures.

Travelmarvel has announced its upcoming Europe itineraries for 2026 that features new tours and the debut of its latest vessel, the Rigel.

In celebration, Travelmarvel is offering an early bird deal, allowing travellers to book 2026 journeys at 2025 prices for bookings made by 13 December 2024.

The Travelmarvel Rigel, named after the brightest star in the constellation Orion, embodies Travelmarvel’s commitment to innovation, guest satisfaction, and environmental responsibility. As part of its fleet expansion, the Rigel addresses rising demand for premium river cruises while enhancing guest experience with state-of-the-art amenities and cutting-edge, eco-friendly technologies. It also incorporates advanced environmental systems to achieve the prestigious Green Award “Gold” status, setting new benchmarks in sustainable river cruising.

Designed as a sister ship to Capella, Vega, and Polaris, Rigel brings enhanced features that cater to both repeat and new clientele. Guests can enjoy the much-loved McGeary’s Bar, Owner’s Suites, and French Balcony Suites with electronic slide-down windows that open up scenic views along Europe’s waterways.

Relaxation spaces include the Sun Deck and the Sky Deck Terrace & Bar, with a whirlpool perfect for leisurely afternoons. Dining venues offer versatility, from the refined Constellations Restaurant to the laid-back True North Lounge and the casual fare at McGeary’s Bar.

The ship launches with an 8-day Rhine & Moselle itinerary between Amsterdam and Basel, offering travellers the unique experience of sailing the Moselle River during summer season. The journey, which marks a first for Travelmarvel, includes visits to destinations like the fairytale town of Cochem, where guests can enjoy a scenic drive and a wine tasting at Schlagkamp Winery, sampling five regional wines, with prices starting at $3,695 per person.

“The launch of Rigel is a proud moment for Travelmarvel, as we continue to elevate the standards in premium European river cruising. With advanced technology and carefully crafted features, Rigel enables us to offer even more enriching and memorable journeys that reflect the exceptional benchmarks our guests expect,” Travelmarvel CEO, David Cox, said. “With a 9.8 guest satisfaction rating that we continuously strive to achieve, this new ship embodies our commitment to providing remarkable value and quality, delivering experiences that Travelmarvel is known for.”
