The Treasures of the South Pacific (ToSP) celebrated a milestone year in 2024 with record engagement and training initiatives across Australia.

Together, Treasures of the South Pacific represents some of the most iconic and diverse destinations in the South Pacific, collaborating to inspire and educate the Australian travel industry about this extraordinary region.

Treasures of the South Pacific members include Tourism Solomons, New Caledonia Tourism, Samoa Tourism, Fiji Tourism, Palau Visitors Authority, Norfolk Island Tourism, Tahiti Tourisme, Niue Tourism, Cook Islands Tourism, and Vanuatu Tourism Office. Supported by valued sponsors such as Pacific Trade Invest (Australia), the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), and major sponsor Fiji Airways, Treasures of the South Pacific fosters a spirit of collaboration while highlighting the unique characteristics of each destination.

In 2024, the Treasures of the South Pacific team successfully hosted six retail travel agent functions, reaching over 750 agents nationwide. These events provided in-depth training on the region’s treasures, equipping agents with the knowledge to recommend the perfect South Pacific destination for their clients.

The year culminated in an exclusive VIP event held at Cockle Bay in Sydney. The invitation-only gathering welcomed over 70 key industry stakeholders and trade media from across the country, creating a dynamic platform for networking, collaboration, and celebrating shared successes. The event followed Treasures of the South Pacific’s Annual General Meeting, where members laid the groundwork for an ambitious 2025, aiming to surpass the achievements of this record-breaking year.

“Treasure of the South Pacific’s success lies in our unique approach,” ToSP director, Richard Skewes, said. “While each member operates independently, we come together like family throughout the year to share our treasures collectively. Our shared attributes, such as pristine waters, white sands, and warm hospitality, are complemented by the distinct and vibrant difference that make each destination truly unique. We’re thrilled with what we’ve achieved in 2024 and are excited to raise the bar even higher in 2025.

“By investing in training programs and working closely with travel agents, wholesalers, and industry stakeholders, we’re not only ensuring the South Pacific remains top of mind but also helping to create exceptional travel experiences for Australian holidaymakers. Our plans for 2025 are bold, and we’re confident it will be our most impactful year yet.”

Treasure of the South Pacific’s vision for the future includes more extensive training programs, increased collaboration with travel agents and wholesales, and innovative marketing initiatives to ensure the South Pacific remains top of mind for Australian travellers.
