Virgin Australia is revamping its inflight menu for summer with a food and drink fiesta including margaritas and palomas served with chocolate waffles, corn chips and salsa at 35,000 feet.

From today, passengers can order Batched Salted Grapefruit Margarita or Papa Salt Gin Paloma and add a sweet treat, such as hot Belgian chocolate waffles or the decadent Byron Bay Triple Choc Cookies in Economy.

On select flights, travellers will also soon be able to indulge in new inflight meals from the popular The Street Food Co., with options such as spinach and ricotta cannelloni and honey chicken fried rice.

The new items will be on menus across both Economy and Business Class, offering passengers not just variety and great value mid-flight, but a unique and exciting selection that can’t be found anywhere else in the skies, the airline said.

Virgin Australia’s general manager product and customer strategy, Ali Dunn, said the airline’s enhanced onboard food offering reflects its commitment to providing travellers with greater choice and quality, elevating the overall flying experience.

“Delivering the highest quality in-flight experience is at the core of what we do, and this extends to our menus. We’ve curated a diverse selection of meals and snacks that highlight premium Australian produce and cater to a variety of tastes,” she said.

“From refreshing beverages to delicious new meal options in both Economy and Business Class, our inflight dining has something for everyone. Plus, our award-winning cabin crew, known for their exceptional service, are integral to the process, providing valuable input during taste tests.”

Dunn also announced the introduction of digital receipts for onboard purchases, offering passengers an easier way to track their transactions.

“This is part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and enhancing the convenience of travel with Virgin Australia,” she added.

Virgin Australia has also introduced digital receipts for onboard purchases and can be conveniently downloaded after the flight by visiting virginaustralia.com/onboard receipts and entering the flight date, flight number and the last four digits of the physical or digital card used.

As part of the Economy experience, guests will continue to receive complimentary Madame Flavour tea, Grinders coffee and water.
