People visiting the Shanghai Disneyland Resort have been locked in and can’t leave without a negative COVID test after the city recorded 10 COVID cases.

The resort announced on Monday morning that it would be locked down due to strict COVID rules in China.

Shanghai Disney said there were “limited offerings” operating at the park and ABC News has reported that some theme park rides are still operating.

China’s strict zero-COVID policy means that abrupt lockdowns occur all over the country in order to limit the spread of the virus. Earlier this year, Shanghai Disneyland was shut down for more than three months as part of Shanghai’s lockdown.

The park was closed with more than 30,000 people stuck inside after authorities ordered them to get a COVID test with contact-tracing efforts.

People on social media posted videos of visitors rushing to the exits, only to find they’d been locked.
