WATCH: How Travel Counsellors earn big bucks

We’ve been sharing a new Travel Counsellors video every week lately, and now it’s time for a new one!

This is our eighth episode of this fabulous series – so we thought we’d focus on something that spikes everyone’s interest: Earning Potential. Or more specifically, how you can earn more as a Travel Counsellor.

And yes, it is possible to work flexible hours from home and earn more than you ever thought possible – you can even hear it from Travel Counsellors themselves!

This video showcases six travel counsellors, all of which explain how working for themselves in partnership with Travel Counsellors has provided them with a greater earning potential and changed their lives.

“Travel Counsellors has given me the opportunity to earn a far larger and far more meaningful income [while] juggling a family than pretty much any other job. The earning potential with Travel Counsellors is limitless. It’s fabulous,” said Travel Counsellor Lani Symons Vaughan.

“I like the fact that I’m not working for someone else, I am working for myself, and it’s my own business, my own choices. You can literally work as hard as you want,” added Travel Counsellor Hamish Naicker.

When Travel Counsellors say there’s no limit to what you can earn, they mean it – the top 12.5 per cent of Travel Counsellors take home over $160,000 a year. No, we aren’t joking.

Phenix, their in-house booking system provides access to thousands of travel products and allows the Travel Counsellor to set their own margins! Travel Counsellors can earn from eight per cent all the way up to 22 per cent in commission – which makes a world of difference compared to that of big, corporate travel agencies. So, your earning potential as a Travel Counsellor truly is uncapped!

So why do Travel Counsellors do so well for themselves? Probably because all the admin is taken care of by head office, which means agents can focus all their efforts into selling trips. Plus, no painful daily commute and more “me” time probably helps too!
