Wendy Wu Tours welcomes Chinese governments extension of visa-free entry for Australians
Edited by Travel Weekly

Wendy Wu Tours has welcomed the announcement by the Chinese Embassy in Canberra of an extended visa-free entry policy for Australian citizens which it has called a ‘gamechanger’ for the destination.

Effective from November 30, 2024, until December 31, 2025, Australian passport holders will now enjoy visa-free travel to China for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family visits, transit, and exchange purposes.

This update builds on the earlier introduction of a 15-day visa-free travel policy, further simplifying travel arrangements for Australian visitors.

Simon Bell, Managing Director of Wendy Wu Tours Australia, praised the move, emphasising its positive impact on reigniting interest in China as a top travel destination:

“This is an incredibly exciting announcement for Australian travellers eager to explore the cultural and natural wonders of China.”

Extending the visa-free period to 30 days provides even more opportunities for immersive and meaningful travel experiences. Wendy Wu Tours has been at the forefront of showcasing China’s beauty, and this change ensures that even more Australians can rediscover its many treasures with ease.”

Wendy Wu Tours has long been synonymous with exceptional travel experiences in China, offering a wide array of meticulously curated tours. In August, the company launched its 2025/2026 China travel brochure, designed to inspire Australian travellers with an array of tour options that blend cultural richness, historical landmarks, and modern marvels.

The new brochure features year-round all-inclusive style itineraries, in addition to:

  • Cruise & Tour Holidays, combining the best of ocean cruising with inclusive land tours.
  • Festive Season Tours, offering unique travel opportunities during China’s winter wonderland.
  • Bespoke itineraries that uncover both iconic attractions and hidden gems.

“With the extended visa-free policy, travellers can take advantage of Wendy Wu Tours’ expertise in creating seamless, memorable journeys,” Bell continued.

“Whether it’s a bustling city like Beijing or the serene landscapes of rural China, there’s something for everyone to discover.”

One of the standout itineraries that will benefit from the new extended 30-day visa -free arrangement is the 28-day Silk Road Explorer, a journey that delves deep into the heart of China’s ancient trade routes.
