YIKES: Plane collapses, injuring two at Heathrow Airport

A British Airways plane bit the dust at Heathrow Airport over the weekend, reportedly injuring two and causing damage to the aircraft.

Images and footage have surfaced on Twitter of a BA plane at Heathrow airport with its nose touching the tarmac after its front landing gear gave way, crashing the cockpit to the ground.

According to Stuffthe Boeing 787 Dreamliner hit the ground after an engineer locked the landing gear incorrectly.

The plane was being used as a cargo-only flight, so there were no passengers on board. However, it is being reported that some flight crew were inside.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson told Stuff that it sent services to the scene including its hazardous area response team and its medics assessed two people, but only one was taken to hospital.

A spokesman for British Airways told Travel Weekly the airline is investigating the matter.
