The Australian Travel Agents Cooperative (ATAC) has launched ATAC Connect, its next-generation member platform designed to strengthen collaboration, simplify operations, and better connect independent travel businesses across Australia.

As ATAC celebrates 40 years as a co-operative, ATAC said the new site Connect represents a significant investment in the future of independent travel agents and the evolution of member support within the network.

More than an intranet, ATAC Connect has been purpose built as a digital ecosystem for members, partners, and head office bringing together communication, resources, operational tools, events, reporting, and community engagement into one modern platform.

ATAC CEO Michelle Emerton said the platform reflects the cooperative’s long-standing commitment to evolving with its members while remaining grounded in the values that make ATAC different.

“ATAC has always been built on connection, collaboration and shared success. As our membership grows and the industry continues to evolve, we knew we needed a platform that not only supports our members operationally, but genuinely brings our community closer together,” Emerton said.

“ATAC Connect is not simply about technology. It is about creating a smarter, more connected cooperative where members can access support faster, engage more deeply with partners, collaborate with each other, and feel part of something bigger than themselves.”

ATAC Connect is fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices and will continue to evolve with additional functionality and enhancements planned over time.

The launch forms part of a broader strategic focus for ATAC as the organisation approaches four decades of supporting independently owned travel businesses throughout Australia.

This follows ATAC launching its redesigned website as part of its celebrations marking 40 years of supporting independent travel professionals across Australia.

Member platform features

Among the member platform’s standout features is an Al-powered chat assistant, enabling members to instantly access information about preferred partners, incentives, resources, and ATAC operations at any time.

The platform also introduces a fully interactive community hub, direct member messaging, mobile friendly access, integrated event management, resource libraries, partner promotion submissions, real time reporting, and streamlined administrative workflows including automated member applications and approvals.

Direct Finance Integration will also provide members with greater financial visibility and transparency, including access to invoice tracking, payment visibility, and detailed reporting on overrides earned through ATAC preferred partners.

Additional features include enterprise-grade security with two-factor authentication (2FA), comprehensive activity tracking, and automated share certificate management to further modernise the member experience while supporting ATACS long-term growth strategy.

Importantly, the platform has also been designed to support stronger engagement between members and preferred partners, allowing suppliers to share promotions, updates, campaigns, and opportunities directly within the network in a more dynamic and collaborative environment.

“Independent agents are incredibly busy businesses. Our goal was to create a platform that saves time, improves visibility, increases engagement, and ultimately helps members extract more value from their cooperative,” Emerton said.

“This is only the beginning. ATAC Connect has been designed as a platform we can continue to build on over time, with future integrations already planned to further strengthen communication, workflow automation, project collaboration, and member engagement across the cooperative.

“This is a foundational piece of where ATAC is heading over the next several years. We are building infrastructure that supports independence, encourages participation, and ensures our members remain commercially strong and deeply connected in a rapidly changing travel landscape.”
