ATEC has announced the launch of its new Emerging Leaders of Inbound Tourism Excellence program (ELITE) at ATE in Melbourne this week.
The new program is aimed at nurturing future leadership talent in the tourism industry to build successful careers and businesses, with the support and mentoring of industry leaders.
“We are pleased to be launching the ATEC ELITE program today, as a way of developing and building leadership capacity within the tourism export industry,” ATEC’s managing director Peter Shelley said.
“We have benchmarked ELITE against other industry programs and will provide a platform for 50 candidates to learn from tourism experts and leadership professionals.”
“Our membership holds a great knowledge base, with many of our leaders willing to share their experience gained over the years. These members will act as industry mentors providing real commercial experience to compliment the formal components of the leadership program.”
Shelley said expressions of interest to participate in the ELITE program are open until the end of July with selected candidates commencing three months of leadership workshops from September.
“The program will feature facilitated small group workshops delivered via an interactive e-learning platform, ensuring a true regional reach and connecting ELITE candidates from all corners of Australia.”
“The program will conclude with a series of ‘industry challenges and opportunities’ where candidates collaborate to research and design a resolution to an existing business or industry issue. ELITE candidate presentations will be showcased at this year’s Meeting Place Conference in December.”
Interested candidates and mentors are invited to complete a registration form: click here or email us at elite@atec.net.au.
ELITE is another example of the practical ways ATEC is building value to meet the needs of Australia’s tourism export industry and its members.
