The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) has announced television journalist, women’s health advocate, and author Shelly Horton as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the 2025 National Travel Industry Association (NTIA) Awards.

Her appearance, proudly sponsored by Virgin Australia, combined with the entertainment sponsored by Helloworld Travel Limited will set the tone for an evening filled with celebration, entertainment and recognition of the best in the Travel Industry.

As a quick-witted and upbeat veteran of some of Australia’s most prominent television shows, Horton is certain keep the NTIA audience engaged and entertained as it gathers for its night of nights.

She appears regularly on Nine’s Today, Today Extra, 3pm News and Weekend Today and co-hosts 9Honey’s ethical dilemma video series called Sticky Situations and features in Nine’s pop culture show 20-1.

While her identity can be revealed, the Helloworld Travel Limited-sponsored entertainment for the industry’s premier awards celebration, will not be revealed until the night and remains a closely guarded secret.

The NTIAs, the travel industry’s most prestigious awards, is on Saturday 18 October at The Star Brisbane. It is preceded by Beyond Borders at the same venue on 17 October.

ATIA wishes to thank both Virgin Australia and Helloworld Travel Limited (HLO) for their sponsorship of the MC and entertainment respectively.

“We are proud to be the entertainment Gold Sponsor at NTIA 2025,” Helloworld Travel limited executive director Cinzia Burnes said. “The Awards are the highlight of the travel industry calendar, and we’re excited to contribute to an unforgettable evening. While the line-up remains a surprise until the night, guests can be assured it matches the prestige and celebration of this special event.”

“Virgin Australia is thrilled to be supporting the 2025 NTIAs and to have Shelly Horton as MC for the industry’s biggest celebration,” Virgin Australia general manager sales Darren McDermott said. “Shelly’s energy, humour and connection with audiences are a perfect match for an evening that celebrates the very best of travel. We know she will help make this a night to remember.”

“NTIA is the biggest night of the year for the Travel Industry, and having Shelly as MC will make it even more special,” ATIA CEO Dean Long said. “Her energy and humour will keep the crowd engaged and entertained all night long. The entertainment that is brought to you by Helloworld Travel will be high energy to bring the industry to our feet.”
