The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) has concluded its Beyond Borders on the Road (BBOTR) events series with the instalments in Adelaide and Perth.

The industry is now looking forward to the flagship Beyond Borders Summit, taking place on 09 October in Melbourne the day before the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs.)

Prior to the BBOTR events in Adelaide and Perth, ATIA also hosted instalments in Sydney and Brisbane.

BBOTR featured a deep dive into RBA surcharge changes from major sponsor TravelPay, fireside chats with industry leaders and advice for selling travel with Nicole O’Sullivan from Birds Eye View Consulting.

“ATIA launched BBOTR so we could bring the insights, networking and all the benefits of Beyond Borders to our members in their home states,” ATIA Chair Christian Hunter said. “The fact every event has been such a success is a strong endorsement of ATIA’s success in delivering for our members.”

The Adelaide and Perth events included a wide range of sessions from STR, My First Job and an airline panel featuring Qantas, Perth Airport and Singapore Airlines. Major sponsors Switzerland Tourism, PassportCard and Philippine Airlines & Department of Tourism also shared industry insights.

“We’re delighted to see such strong engagement with BBOTR from our members across the board,” ATIA chief executive officer Dean Long said. “Thank you to all our attendees and especially to our sponsors, we look forward to seeing everyone at the Beyond Borders Summit in Melbourne.”

Just recently, ATIA announced that Viking will return as major sponsor for the upcoming NTIA event.
