Aurora Expeditions has confirmed the resignation of managing director Robert Halfpenny after more than three years in the role.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Halfpenny finished up as Aurora’s MD in May, having joined the cruise line from Rocky Mountaineer in 2017.
A spokesperson for Aurora said Halfpenny was “in discussions with the board of directors regarding future opportunities within the company”.
In the interim until a new managing director is appointed, the spokesperson said Aurora’s chairman, Neville Buch, has taken on an executive chairman role.
Halfpenny isn’t the only cruise line boss to recently exit their role, with Holland America Line president Orlando Ashford and Seabourn president Richard Meadows both stepping down from their respective positions at the end of May.
