The Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) has appointed Colette Baini to its board of directors, effective immediately.
Colette Baini founded and leads The Conference Room and Australia Conferences & Incentives. Her agencies operate globally and have won multiple awards as full-service business event firms.
She delivers creative, high-impact work in incentive travel, conferences, special events, and destination management across Australia.
ABEA Chair Peter King said, “We warmly welcome Colette Baini to the ABEA Board. She brings valuable insight, strong industry credibility, and deep passion.”
As ABEA celebrates its second anniversary, it continues to attract strong interest and active involvement from all corners of the industry. King added, “Professionals across our chapters, pillars, and special interest groups show impressive talent and genuine commitment to shaping the industry’s future.”
To better align with member feedback, ABEA merged the Supplier Pillar with the WH&S and Risk Management Special Interest Groups. It appointed Damien Gaffney to lead this newly combined group.
ABEA also named several new chapter chairs:
Dan Morahan will lead the Queensland Chapter
Hannah Von Bibra steps in as Chair of Victoria
Jessie Rayson takes over as Chair of Northern Territory after serving as Vice-Chair
For the Special Interest Groups:
Jessica Zicker will lead Sustainability
Toni McAllister will head Education, Skills & Pathways to Industry
Andrew Cook will lead Emerging Leaders
Each chair leads a team that runs events, shares resources, drives initiatives, and builds networks. They will report on their work at the upcoming ABEA Conference, which takes place 3–5 December 2025 in Melbourne.
