Australian-owned travel commerce platform, BYRDLI, has partnered with Washington, DC and Visit the USA, to show visitors that the US capital is more than just monuments and museums, through exclusive, creator-led itineraries.

Through this new campaign, travel creators Phoebe Lee (@travelforphoebe) and Mary Vitinaros (@maryvitinaros) invite the audience on a fully immersive, bookable journey through Washington, DC.

BYRDLI is a travel commerce platform that aims to revolutionise how travel is curated, shared and booked. Designed for creators and independent travel advisors, BYRDLI enables users to build and monetise their own Travel Clubs, transforming influence into bookable experiences.

“Travel is about connection, both to a place and the people who inspire you to visit,” BYRDLI co-founder and CEO says Vanessa Richards, said. “With BYRDLI, we’re giving creators the power to craft and share experiences that are personal, trusted, and instantly bookable. Washington, DC is an incredible destination, and we’re thrilled to partner with Visit the USA and Washington, DC to showcase it in a fresh, engaging way.”

The travel creators’ curated experiences will feature the best of the city’s iconic sites and hidden gems and will be available for travellers to book directly through BYRDLI Travel Clubs.

“We love to engage travellers who are eager for extraordinary experiences, said Destination DC Australia and New Zealand director, Corey Marshall, “and our partnership with BYRDLI challenges the current perception of Washington, DC as a political city that is only known for its iconic museums and monuments.

“Washington, DC offers vibrant neighbourhoods and an incredible dining scene from Michelin-awarded restaurants to impressive neighbourhood eateries. We encourage travellers to book a visit to DC, to uncover a city where there is so much more than politics.”

Beyond the brochure

Forget only ticking off the landmarks. Washington, DC is a city to explore in real time. Lee and Vitinaros will take their communities on a journey through buzzing neighbourhoods, world-class culinary spots, historic streets and cultural hotspots.

From the striking views of the National Mall to DC’s award-winning restaurants, underground music venues, and arts districts, the campaign delivers an experience beyond the usual tourist trail. Their real-time storytelling will allow followers to see, feel, and book these experiences for themselves, turning inspiration into action.

Through BYRDLI’s seamless tech integration, followers of Phoebe Lee and Mary Vitinaros can directly book their favourite stays, must-visit restaurants, and hand-picked activities in just a few clicks.

To take this campaign even further, BYRDLI and Washington, DC will be hosting an exclusive event in Sydney in August 2025 where attendees can engage with the creators, learn more about the campaign, and discover new ways to experience the city.
