The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) and The Accessible Group Pty Ltd have entered into a new partnership designed to improve the visibility and reliability of accessibility information across Australia’s tourism industry.
The ATDW has recognised the Accessible Group’s Accessible Tourism Accreditation Program (ATAP) within its tourism listings for the past three years.
This new agreement formalises the longstanding collaboration and allows independently verified accessibility information to be shared across Australia’s tourism ecosystem.
With two consumer-facing tourism platforms already in operation, AccessibleAccommodation.com and AccessibleExperiences.com, The Accessible Group spotlights make-or-break accessibility details for people with disabilities, seniors and their families.
Sharing clear, verified accessibility information
Under the agreement, participating accommodation and experience providers will have their verified accessibility information displayed on ATDW listings.
Links to full profiles on The Accessible Group’s sites will also be provided, developed alongside people living with disabilities. The agreement also supports improved search visibility and AI-readiness.
The Accessible Group founder Kerry Williams said that the partnership will allow people living with disabilities to book with greater confidence.
“Tourism operators and destinations want to welcome every guest well, and accurate accessibility information is a big part of that. For seven years, we have worked with operators to independently verify their accessibility and present that information in a way travellers can actually use.
“When details are inaccurate or unclear, it can lead to stressful experiences for guests and erode trust in the wider industry. This partnership helps close that gap, so people with disability, seniors and their families can plan and book with greater confidence.”
ATDW senior manager, industry Nadia Feeney said that the partnership reflects the platform’s longstanding commitment to providing quality accessibility content.
“This partnership strengthens ATDW’s role in distributing reliable, AI-ready accessibility information across our network, helping destinations and operators ensure that verified accessibility details are easier to find, easier to understand and easier to trust,” she said.
The partnership will be rolled out in phases, beginning with accreditation recognition and linking participating ATDW profiles to verified accessibility profiles.
