Registrations are now open for Business Events Industry Aotearoa’s (BEIA) 46th AGM and Annual Conference.

This year’s conference will be held in Hawke’s Bay at Napier Conference Centre from 4 to 6 October 2022.

Themed ‘Ignite the Future’, BEIA’s first conference for the New Zealand industry in three years is timed to fire up discussion on the challenges, opportunities and business models needed ahead.

BEIA chief executive, Lisa Hopkins said after a tough two and half years for the business events sector, now is the time to move forward at pace and with optimism.

“The conference gives our members the opportunity to reconnect in an energising environment, and work on the challenging and stimulating conversations needed for future success,” she said.

BEIA’s 2022 conference programme is informative and interactive with workshops designed to develop debate and ideas, and deliver solutions to industry challenges.

Oscar Cerezales, chief strategy officer at MCI Group from Singapore is leading the future-planning discussions on day two. He will be facilitating a deep analysis of the changed market and redesigned ecosystem, focusing on new roles, new players, and new rules of engagement.

The programme also introduces a chance to experience the Hawke’s Bay region’s wine and food culture, Art Deco heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and wildlife activities.

“This is the ideal time to connect with others in the industry and, as we know, shared experiences create stronger bonds. Hawke’s Bay region will be the perfect place to do this – with stunning views to the horizon across the Pacific Ocean from the waterfront conference centre in Napier, and time off to explore the region, network, and soak up ideas,” Hopkins said.

The Old Church Napier is set for the welcome function on 4 October, with ToiToi – Hawke’s Bay Arts and Event Centre hosting the gala dinner on 6 October.

First-timers will be welcomed at a special event on Tuesday afternoon, 4 October.
